Are sponsoring an Advanced Firearms Training Course for Auxiliary and Reserve Officers

This Course will be presented by MPTC Master Firearms Instructors.

Course will be held in one session

Saturday June 4, 2016 9am to 6pm (Range)  Location: Worcester County Sheriff Office Range


Members $100

Non- Members $125

Plus students to supply 300 rounds of ammunition

Advanced Reserve Firearms Course Overview


Advanced class will include: Review of basics, go over shooting from cover including a qualification course using cover, downed /disabled officer drills- shooting, reloading and clearing malfunctions one handed along with 2 qualification courses using only one hand, a number of other drills- one will stressing shooting while moving.  The class will finish up with shooting scenarios such as one modeled after the 4/11/86 FBI Miami shoot out.


Pre-class Student Requirements

All Participants MUST have completed either the MPTC Reserve (20 Hour) or Full-time Academy Firearms Training Programs.

All participants should re-familiarize themselves with the basics by and downloading read and review the MPTC Reserve Intermittent Recruit Firearms Training Manual (RFM) found at the following link:

Equipment Requirements

300 rounds duty pistol ammo (full metal jacket training ammo permissible)

Service Pistol w/minimum of three (3) magazines

Full Duty Belt including security holster, magazine pouch, handcuffs, Inert OC w/pouch, baton

Body Armor

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)* (eye & hearing protection and cap with visor)

Suitable clothing for the anticipated weather conditions (bring what you wear on duty)

Brown bag lunch for range

*No one will be permitted to participate without PPE
